I am grateful for shiny floors and a sparkling apartment. Especially because for the first time in over two years, it wasn’t done by me. I can’t believe how much I took having my home cleaned by someone other than myself, every single day, for granted. I am grateful that now I no longer do.
Now that you are not doing yours… would you like to come do mine?
Yip, especially now I know how much its worth. The cleaning lady drives a better car than me!!! Love it, and how right is that … your time is valued.

Kerry Solomon Just to add – I always showed appreciation and respect to the person who cleaned my home on a daily basis, but I truly did not realise how much hard physical labour went into keeping my house in the sparkling condition it was always in. I wish I had just done more, like helped to make the beds more often – something that is much easier when there are 2 of you doing it! I’m so grateful I now get it!

Nadja O’Keeffe Cleaning a home is the most thankless job in the world. Teenagers don’t appreciate it and my husband seem to think that it can be done in 5 min?? BUT when my home is organised and clean I feel that it somehow resembles my state of mind, and I’m able to feel more at ease and for me a Happy home is a happy state of mind. When someone else cleans my home – I seem to have this infinite love and appreciation for that special soul. I CAN SO RELATE ♥ xxx

Di Wilson Yes – but a great alternative to the dreaded gym!

Lianne Cawood Kerry, me too, I was extremely appreciative but took it so for granted and never realised (and you simply don’t unless you do it for years yourself!) truly as Nadja says … what a thankless task it is. Relentless. But have to say I have enjoyed it too, and will continue too, because it is how you view it, but just for yesterday, I so loved having someone else do it and was truly honestly grateful. And Di couldn’t agree more … the bloody stupid irony is, I paid someone else to clean my floors and went to gym. xxx

Nadja O’Keeffe There is nothing nicer than leaving a dirty house and returning to a crisp and clean home …. It’s like Cinderella’s little helpers popped in for a visit …. and who says Fairytales don’t come true …lol :))))

Kerry Solomon It is totally the best to walk into a house that has been cleaned by somebody else! And here there is no taking it for granted 😉 I must say though, as relentless as it is, as much as I hate and bemoan it and often have to dig very deep to do it, I love the feeling after I’ve done a good clean, and everything is in it’s place, neat, sparkling and tidy. Of course with a 1 and 5 year old it all lasts about 5 minutes! 🙂
